Welcome to Cleopatra's Substack
This has been a long time coming...
The first question you may have is why I left social media…
To be completely transparent with you, I’ve been contemplating it for a very long time. But like a child (or me, a 22-year-old author & entrepreneur) stands on the edge of the pool, too worried to jump in because it’s cold, I was too scared to take the plunge because I dreaded losing my so called “connection” to people. It’s true—I’ve built a community of wonderful readers through Instagram. But when it started feeling dreadful to create content, when I couldn’t write because I was distracted, and when I felt pressure to post when I didn’t want to, well, I needed to reevaluate.
So, I took the plunge.
On Thursday, April 24, 2025, I jumped in. I created a farewell post to share on my Instagram and in my Facebook readers group. I’ll have to redownload solely to tie up a few loose ends (because you can’t post a story on a laptop, of course!), but I’ve deleted the apps from my phone entirely. I feel so free that I can hardly believe it. Of course, now I wonder why I didn’t jump in sooner, but oh, well. Here I am now.
So, what’s next?
For starters, I’m not going anywhere as an author. I’m drafting a book I adore with all my heart and soul, I’m doing some rewrites to my other books, and I’m still getting my covers redone. There’s a lot to come for Cleopatra Margot from an author standpoint, it just takes a little time.
But I’ll miss you online!
Which is why I’m here on Substack! I plan to offer several newsletters for you, ranging from author updates to weekly outfit inspiration to a brand-new project in the world of timepieces from a lady’s perspective. I would love to hear from you by sending me an email, replying to my newsletters, or joining my Substack chat. It’s going to be so much less stressful for us all here.
In conclusion,
this is a brand new chapter. One completely uncharted, sure, but that just means it’s a blank slate! I’ve changed, my life has changed, and even my books have changed. Why not embrace the change instead of resisting it? I’ve always been a fan of life’s changes, so you’ll find me loving this one, too.
THANK YOU
for being here! I truly cannot wait to enjoy this journey with you. Here’s to what’s already been, but more importantly, to the fresh start that awaits us. Don’t forget to subscribe below so you can stay up to date on all things Cleopatra Margot!
